About
Hi, I'm Silviu Virlan. I've spent 12+ years deep inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV — and over time, the work I attract has gotten harder. That's by design. Slow code is my bat-signal — when a process runs for an hour, when locking issues only surface under load, when nobody set up telemetry, that's when I get called.
My rate filters out the simple stuff. What lands on my desk tends to be the problems others couldn't solve: a process that runs for an hour and needs to run in 12 minutes. Locking issues that only surface in production under load. An integration that hammers the BC API with thousands of requests a day when the right answer is exporting to Azure Data Lake and querying it there. Telemetry that nobody set up, so nobody knows why BC is slow.
I do AL and C/AL development — but what I'm really good at is diagnosing systems, finding the root cause, and fixing things properly. No band-aids. I'll tell you what's wrong, why it's wrong, and what the right fix looks like — even if it's not the answer you expected.
SureHoofERP is different. I work directly with you — no account managers, no handoffs. You get a certified Microsoft MVP who codes, consults, and communicates clearly.
The name? Capricorn is sure-footed on difficult ground — steady, precise, unfazed by steep terrain. That's exactly how I approach every BC engagement.
Small to mid-sized businesses in the US that run — or are moving to — Microsoft Business Central or Dynamics NAV. I've worked across logistics, food import and distribution, manufacturing, professional services, and retail.
I've been recognized as a Microsoft MVP in the Business Applications category, which means Microsoft has validated my expertise and contributions to the Business Central community. This is one of the highest individual recognitions in the Microsoft partner ecosystem.
I run the Business Central Musings blog and YouTube channel, where I publish deep-dive technical content on AL development, BC administration, and platform features. I've also authored multiple MB-820 Exam Cram books covering AL development, reporting, performance, APIs, and cloud migration — used by developers preparing for the Business Central Developer certification.
